Outreach Representative - Lyrasis - FULLY REMOTE

Lyrasis, a mission-driven, community-led nonprofit serving libraries, archives, museums, and research communities, is seeking an Outreach Representative to add to our growing, dynamic team. The Role:

Outreach Representative will build effective relationships with members and non-members, including state, public, and academic libraries, archives, museums, and consortia to facilitate cooperation and collaboration; and promoting LYRASIS products and services. This could be your next career if you are one of the following:

  • A person who has a successful sales career - particularly library archives or museums markets - and are looking to transition your skills into having a larger institutional conversation and transitioning your enthusiasm for sales into a position that requires much of the same methodologies with success measured on sustainability and impact.
  • An individual who has worked in a library, archive, or museum, but wants to expand your service expertise to help other libraries, archives and museums impact their community.
  • You are an experienced non-profit professional working with community planning & outreach, fundraising and public speaking.

Required:

  • Understanding of the role of State, Public, and Academic Libraries, Archives, Museums, and Consortia in library services and operations
  • Proven ability to build, maintain and grow relationship with organizations, libraries in particular
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding operational and/or sales goals
  • Proficiency in territory or project management
  • Excellent listening, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills
  • Comfort with working both frequently on the road and from home
  • Must be able to collect, analyze and evaluate information in a variety of ways
  • CRM (Customer Relationship Management) or enterprise software experience
  • Must possess self-directed initiative and excel in the areas of time management, organization, prioritization, and multi-tasking
  • Self-starter who acts as primary relationship-builder for key accounts
  • Requires the ability to effectively explain complex concepts, products and services
  • Ability to understand members' needs and present the most cost-effective solutions for libraries
  • Must be mission driven
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Excellent listening, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills
  • Comfort with working both frequently on the road and from home
