 LYRASIS is seeking an Implementation Coordinator who will be responsible for managing the configuration and deployment of hosting client accounts for our open-source cloud-based services, in particular Library Simplified and SimplyE. This role is highly collaborative, working directly with clients and LYRASIS technical team members to ensure successful technical configurations are in place, requested customizations are implemented, and overall client satisfaction is achieved. 

 Library Simplified is an open-source e-book content aggregator developed for public library use by the New York Public Library. It aggregates content from a library's e-book vendors, integrates with a library's ILS for patron access, and provides access to open e-book content. It provides all this content to library patrons for checkout and downloads via a mobile app called SimplyE. 

 NOTE: This is a grant-funded position for 24 months only. 


Duties/Job Responsibilities: 


  • Develop and execute implementation plans for all new hosting clients, following a phased and staged approach. 
  • Introduce clients to technology, providing introductory training that aligns with the needs of each organization. 
  • Provide support to client staff in the rollout of SimplyE to readers, establishing customized adoption plans in consultation by partner libraries. 
  • Acquire ongoing client feedback and provide to the engineering team to be assessed and addressed by the
  • Effectively communicate implementation status, observations, and needs prioritization to correct team members. 
  • Ensure effective communication is provided to all clients. Serve as the central project liaison with external partners and internal teams. 
  • Make presentations on the project as communication needs warrant.
  • Other project-related duties as assigned.


Technical Experience and Training



  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field of study or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • 2 years of related client-facing work experience.
  • Experience using mobile application technology.
  • Experience presenting in-person and via remote technology (such as Zoom, Skype, WebEx, etc.) 
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products and website editors or content management programs.
  • Ability to learn new software, such as Zendesk, Basecamp, Confluence, etc.



  • Familiarity with Library Simplified/SimplyEor other archival, collection management, and/or e-book and e-audiobook distributor  
  • Experience with survey design, implementation,and reporting. 
  • Experience working in a Library or Archive.
  • Experience working in a remote position.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 


  • General understanding of the open-source software development process and life cycle.
  • General knowledge of library systems, including an understanding of ILS software, content distributors, and e-book/e-audiobook platforms and mobile technology.
  • Strong customer service orientation and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, especially to effectively manage multiple priorities. Must possess a self-directed initiative and excel in time management, organization, and prioritization. 
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team. 
  • Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with people and organizations internal and external to LYRASIS.
  • Proven ability to interact with software engineers, developers, and business teams.  
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills, including experience presenting both in-person and virtually.  
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to travel occasionally.
